Professor O. B. Adedeji was trained at Nigeria’s foremost University, the University of Ibadan where he completed the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine program for his undergraduate degree. Because of his passion for scientific research and interest in academia, He enrolled and completed a Master’s and Doctor of Philosophy degrees in Veterinary Public Health in same university with a subspecialty in fish diseases, food safety, aquatic epidemiology and toxicology. In addition, he completed the fellowship training of the College of Veterinary Surgeon Nigeria in 2017. He was a Courtesy Faculty member at the Department of Environmental and Molecular Toxicology at Oregon State University, Corvallis in the United States and before this time, He worked as a visiting scientist at the US Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) laboratory Duluth Minnesota in 2011 and received an award from USEPA for his accomplishment. He has more than sixty (60) scientific publications in local and international peer-reviewed professional journals.
Based on his academic performance during the graduate program, he was retained by the University as a faculty. He started as a lecturer II and progressively rose through the ranks with merit-based promotions and appointments as Senior Lecturer and subsequently as a tenured Professor in 2013. During this time, he served as Sub- Dean for Undergraduate affairs responsible for managing undergraduate students and their faculties. He was elected as the Dean of the Faculty with effect from 1 August, 2019. He is happily married and the union is blessed with three children.
