Welcome

 I have the pleasure of welcoming you through the net to the Department of Veterinary Anatomy, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Ibadan, Nigeria. The essence of anatomy can be well appreciated considering the importance of the skeleton to the entire body of a living organism. In the same vein, the Veterinary Anatomy Department as the skeleton of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, gives detailed information on form and structure of the animal both at gross and cellular levels and thus provide the pivot and support needed in the training of Veterinary Graduates
 

Established first in 1963 as the Department of Veterinary Anatomy and Physiology with financial assistance from the Rockefeller Foundation, the department provides for teaching and research in the fields of gross anatomy, histology and embryology. As a pre-clinical department of the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) programme, the department equips students with the knowledge of the structure and function of living organisms with research areas in Skin Biology; Reproductive and Endocrine Biology; Comparative Anatomy, Neuroscience, Environmental Toxicology and Lipid Metabolism in Farm and Laboratory Animals.
 

Endowed with highly sound and dedicated academics, laboratory technologists, administrative and supporting staff, the department assists the faculty in producing professionals worthy in character and sound judgment thereby contributing her quota in the realization of the vision of the University.
