PROFILE :Faculty Officer, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine
Mrs. Chinyere B. Alawode born on June 13, 1965 in Ibadan joined the University services as Secretary II, Secretary to the Dean, Faculty of the Social Sciences with effect from 1 March, 1995 and was promoted to the Grade of Secretary I in 1998 and redeployed as Secretary to the Dean, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine.
On 1 June, 2000 she was redeployed to the Registrar’s office where she also served as the Secretary to the Pro-Chancellor from June 2004 to May 2006 before her appointment was redesignated to the post of Administrative Officer in June, 2006.
Mrs. Alawode through the dint of hard work and perseverance completed on part-time basis the Postgraduate Diploma in Public Administration and Masters in Managerial Psychology at the University of Ibadan.
As an Administrative Officer, she served at the Senate Office. She was in charge of the Committee of Provost and Deans and also as Secretary, Admissions Committee (2006 to 2008) after which, she was redeployed to the Student Affairs Division in 2008 where she was the Careers Officers before she was redeployed as the Faculty Officer, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine 1 May, 2012.
At the Student Affair Division she handled several Committees as the Secretary such as :
- Anti Cultism Campaign Committee
- Student Financial Aids Committee
- Committee on Student National Health Insurance Scheme
- Committee on Work/Study Programme
- Conference Fund Sub-Committee of the (COPD)
- Administrative Secretary, Centre for Social Orientation (CENSO).
She also served as Secretary to many Panels e.g.
- Panel ‘C’ of the Senior Staff Disciplinary Committee
- Secretary, Committee on Provision of Public toilets
- Secretary, Committee on Students Unruly Behaviour at Glory Tabernacle Church, Ibadan
- Secretary, Panel of Investigation on Allegation of Unconstitutional Act towards Fund by Student Union Executive.
She was also in charge of some administrative duties at the Student Affairs Division, like, State and Federal Bursary, Counselling, Careers, Student Associations, Scholarships, to mention but few.
She was promoted to the grade of Assistant Registrar in October, 2009.
Mrs. Alawode attended several Workshops, Seminars and Conferences both In-service, National and International. She is a member of several Professional bodies which includes
- Member, Association of Nigeria Universities Professional Administrators (ANUPA)
- Member, Nigerian Institute of Management (MNIM)
- Member, Association of Universities Administrators (AUA)
As the Careers Officer, University of Ibadan she received the ‘Mama Ondo Award’ presented by the National Association of Ondo State Students in recognition of her exemplary virtue and contribution towards well being of Ondo State Students and the University of Ibadan Students in general.
Mrs. Chinyere Alawode has a strong capability to work in a team, she has analytical and planning skill, ability to work with people from diverse culture and background, she has diplomacy and tact and has good interpersonal skills, she is a goal getter and has strong leadership qualities. Her hobbies include, reading, travelling, meeting people, charity work and watching movies.
