Head of Department's Welcome Address
You are welcome to the Department of Veterinary Microbiology and Parasitology, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Nigeria. The Department of Veterinary Microbiology and Parasitology his Para-Clinical Department a link between the Pre-Clinical and Clinical training programmes for the degree of Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM).
The Department has two sections: Veterinary Microbiology which deals with bacterial, viral and fungal diseases of livestock and Veterinary Parasitology which is concerned with diseases of livestock caused by helminthes, protozoa and arthropods.
As a Para-Clinical Department of the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree programme the department equips the students with the knowledge of the biology, effects and diagnosis of microbes and parasites of livestock including poultry.
The Department also offers postgraduate programmes that lead to the award of M.Sc, MVSc, M.Phil and Ph.D degrees in either Veterinary Microbiology or Veterinary Parasitology.
